Raku Member Firing: March 30th

Preacher Pottery is excited to offer our first Member Raku Firing! One of our own, Terry Parker, has offered to bring his raku kiln out and host a firing with us! Please read the details below to make sure you can have a successful firing!

  • 3 pieces max per person

  • No piece larger than 14” wide

  • All pieces must be bisque fired previously.

  • Terry will provide glazes that he has. You are more than welcome to purchase raku glazes on your own.

  • Terry will also have horsehair, pheasant feathers, peacock, and sugar available.

  • If you have a medium you want to try please feel free to bring it.

  • There are many opinions on clay to be used. Mammoth has a raku clay that can be used. Raku clay is designed with a grog that is conducive to thermal shock. You may want to split a bag with someone or someone(s)  since it is specific in nature. *Regular mid-range clay can be used as well.*

***Due to limited availability, we cannot offer refunds for this workshop. In the event that you are unable to attend, you may transfer your seat to another member.
