Galentines 2025

February 9 | 10am (Friendship Bracelet Mugs)

February 15 | 9am (Coil Vase)

February 16 | 10am (Friendship Bracelet Mugs)

Enjoy a morning of pastries, mimosas, pottery and your closest friends… This year for our Galentines events you can learn how to make your own ceramic mug/ vase utilizing hand building techniques (no wheel this time). No prior experience necessary. This is a relaxed time to explore hand building and create functional items you can use.

 

1x Wheel Workshop

February 8 | 7:00 - 8:30PM

Have you thought about taking pottery lessons before? Have you ever wished there was a 1x class that could give you a taste of what it’s like before you commit to one of our 4-week classes? This 1x wheel throwing workshop is for people who have no experience but want a general introduction of what it’s like to throw pottery.

Beginner I Wheel Throwing

Come and learn the basics of wheel throwing in a relaxed small group setting. These lessons will focus on wheel control, hand positioning, centering clay, glaze application and the use of basic tools. By the end of this 4- week course, students will have created 4 functional pieces to take home. All materials will be provided. Shoes and clothes will get messy.

Beginner II Wheel Throwing

For students who have completed the Beginner Wheel Throwing Course.

This course will allow the student to expound upon their basic throwing skills and will focus on centering larger amounts of clay, handling mugs, trimming, and glazing techniques. All materials will be provided. Shoes and clothes will get messy.

 

Intermediate II Wheel

This course will encourage the student to expound upon their growing skills by focusing on constructing 2 teapots and finishing larger forms by throwing in sections. All materials will be provided. This course is challenging and rewarding, most likely will require studio time outside class to complete.

 

Glazing 101

Tuesdays 10:30AM - 12PM

Glazing can be hard and certainly frustrating at times. This course is to introduce tips, tricks and differing methods of glaze application to help your pieces achieve a more controlled and expected result. This class will cover techniques for dip & brush application, along with underglaze, underglaze transfers, tape resist, and a few special effect glaze methods.

 

Altered Forms I

Mondays 7:30PM - 9PM

This 4-week course will encourage the student to expound upon their growing skills by being given an introduction into the world of altered forms. This course will guide each participant through taking a wheel thrown piece and modifying its form using handbuilding techniques to accomplish its finished look.

Open Studio

Open Studio provides unguided studio time for those that understand the pottery basics (hand building or wheel throwing) but just need the equipment and space to enjoy ceramics.
