Kids Spring Break 1x Wheel Workshop

March 17th 10AM-11:30AM

March 17th 12PM-1:30PM

In this 1-day workshop, kids (recommended ages 7+) will receive an introduction to wheel throwing techniques. Preacher Pottery will work with each student to make 1-2 pieces on the wheel. This workshop will provide your child a relaxed time to explore the wheel in a small group environment.

 

Kids Summer Camp

June 9-12 | 2-4:30PM

June 23-26 | 2PM - 4:30PM

July 14-17 | 2PM - 4:30PM

August 4-7 | 2PM - 4:30PM

In this 4-day class, kids (recommended ages 7-13) will receive an introduction to wheel throwing techniques, ceramic hand-building and glazing. Preacher Pottery will work with each student to make 2-3 pieces on the wheel and 2-3 pieces by handbuilding. No prior experience necessary. $299

 

Friday Night Handuilding: Succulent Planters

March 28 | 7 - 9PM

Come learn how to make your very own ceramic succulent Face Planter just in time for Spring! This workshop will teach differing hand building techniques (no wheel this time). No prior experience necessary. This is a relaxed time to explore hand building and create functional items you can use.

 

Friday Night Handuilding: Birdhouse

April 11 | 7-9PM

It’s almost Spring! Come make your own ceramic Birdhouse with us! This workshop will teach differing hand building techniques (no wheel this time). No prior experience necessary.

 

Kid + Parent Duo: Tic Tac Toe Board

April 25th | 6-8PM

Work together with your child (or grandchild, niece, nephew, neighbor) to hand build a one-of-a-kind Tic-Tac-Toe board (other colors available). Your board and game pieces will need days to dry, so our studio will glaze and fire your piece for you, and it will be ready to pick up as early as 4 weeks.

Beginner I Wheel Throwing

Come and learn the basics of wheel throwing in a relaxed small group setting. These lessons will focus on wheel control, hand positioning, centering clay, glaze application and the use of basic tools. By the end of this 4- week course, students will have created 4 functional pieces to take home. All materials will be provided. Shoes and clothes will get messy.

Beginner II Wheel Throwing

For students who have completed the Beginner Wheel Throwing Course.

This course will allow the student to expound upon their basic throwing skills and will focus on centering larger amounts of clay, handling mugs, trimming, and glazing techniques. All materials will be provided. Shoes and clothes will get messy.

 

Glazing 101

Wednesdays 5:30PM in April

Glazing can be hard and certainly frustrating at times. This course is to introduce tips, tricks and differing methods of glaze application to help your pieces achieve a more controlled and expected result. This class will cover techniques for dip & brush application, along with underglaze, underglaze transfers, tape resist, and a few special effect glaze methods.

 

Intermediate I Wheel

This course will encourage the student to expound upon their growing skills by focusing on larger forms (pitcher) and pulling handles. All materials will be provided. This course is challenging and rewarding, most likely will require studio time outside class to complete.

 

Handbuilding I

Come and learn the most ancient form of pottery in a relaxed small group setting. These lessons will focus on pinch, coil, slab and glaze application with the use of basic tools. Handbuilding provides a unique opportunity to gain control of your ceramic pieces by learning how to apply details and give your clay an organic aesthetic!

Open Studio provides unguided studio time for those that understand the pottery basics (hand building or wheel throwing) but just need the equipment and space to enjoy ceramics.
